另外Admin Rules在這裡: 1. DO NOT OVER ADMIN. Do not admin the little things. Over admining will empty a server faster than good admining will fill it.
2. Wear the =(eGO)= tag in the front of your name and in put all other tags behind your name when on eGO servers to let players know there is an admin present.
3.Use your admin only when necessary. Let any eGO in game handle admining unless they are not responding. Ask eGO members what to do when problems come up. They will probably tell you to handle it.
4. Do not spend your gaming time spec'ing, looking for hackers or wrong doers. Play the game, lead by example and have fun. It is NOT your job to look for hackers. Do not use or allow foul language.
5. Always nicely warn players who do. Many will apologize and be good sports when approached with respect and kindness.
6. Don't argue or question another admins decision in public. Take it up via a private means (PM, Email).
7. Use sm_say sparingly as it causes text clutter on the screen. Basically do not use admin for fun.
8. Undercover admins must be authorized by eGO Council. You will lose your tag for playing undercover. ALWAYS wear your tag!
9. You are expected to abide by them and are held to a higher standard than non-eG and eGO. No bad words. Always act with good conduct.
EdgeGamers was founded by JohnT and Artimus on July 1st, 2006. They quickly were joined by Slayr357, Kamikaze Tommy and Kendle. It was their goal to create a place in the gaming world where mature gaming could be enjoyed.
Now, every admin at eGO shares the same vision of a fun and punk free gaming environment where decent, respectful people will feel welcome. Good admins are needed to do this. This is where YOU come in.
Congratulations On Your Promotion
Anyone reading this now was promoted to eG because it is felt that you would possibly be a good addition to the eGO level of the clan. eG was founded to give newer members of the community a place to gain admin experience and get to know the members of eGO.
Admin Rules
Wear the Edge Gamers tag in the front of your name and put all other tags behind your name when on eGO servers to let players know there is an admin present. All eGO members MUST wear their tag in any server, even non-eGO servers. Know the server rules. They are in the MOTD that is displayed when you connect to the game. You are expected to abide by them and are held to a higher standard than non-eG and eGO. Use your admin only when necessary. Let any eGO in game handle admining unless they are not responding. Ask eGO members what to do when problems come up. They will probably tell you to handle it. Do not spend your gaming time spec'ing, looking for wrong doers. Play the game, lead by example and have fun. It is NOT your job to look for hackers. Do not use or allow foul language. Always nicely warn players who do. Many will apologize and be good sports when approached with respect and kindness. Don't argue or question another admins decision in public. Take it up via a private means (PM, Email). Use sm_say sparingly as it causes text clutter on the screen. Undercover admins must be authorized by eGO Council. You can lose your tag for playing undercover. If you've banned a player you are required to visit the Contest A Ban forum regularly to address any contest in a prompt manner.
Admin Commands
eG admins have the ability to slap, slay or kick offensive players. If you feel a ban is needed contact an eGO member, via PM, email, MSN or Request a Ban forum with the offenders Steam ID. Provide the reason for requesting a ban.
Please use the admin menu when managing players. This is done by typing sm_ADMIN into your console. The console can be accessed with ~ key. Find a key which works best for you, then bind the admin menu to that key.
For example in console type:
bind "f1" "sm_admin"
If your admin menu disappears after trying a function, then you need to turn off your server download restrictions.
Type this in console to turn them off:
cl_restrict_server_commands 0
In-Game Communication
eG admins also have psay, say and admin chat.
To type privately to admins: u @ message
To type privately to an individual: u @@ player message ("player" is at least 4 letters of player name, "message" is your message to that person)
To put a message in the middle of the screen (USE SPARINGLY AND ONLY WHEN NEEDED TO GET ATTENTION): Y(all chat) @@@ space msg
Foul Language
Although we don't allow foul language, the spirit of the our rule encourages you to look at the attitude of the player. Do not nitpick someone who drops a foul word once. Half the clan would be banned if we did. Let the player know of our rule in a polite manner.
Abbreviations such as WTF are allowed. At least they aren't actually saying... well, you know.
Campers
Everyone has their own game style. Some like to get a sniper rifle and camp all day, some like to hard charge the flags. While it's important to play as a team to win, keep in mind that this is just a game, and everyone should be able to connect and play as they wish.
It's best to use leadership skills to get your teammates working together, and a good leader will usually have no problem accomplishing this, but we must be tolerant of other styles and allow people to connect and have fun.
So, let's not complain about campers. Instead, encourage those who don't have a MG or sniper to get flags. And, admins, never use admin against someone who chooses to camp, unless they are disrespecting you or others in game.
Spawn Killing/Camping
For eGO purposes: Spawn camping is killing people as they appear, REGARDLESS of where the respawners are killed from.
Players often accuse others of spawn camping. They aren't always talking about the above rule. So, if one of us doesn't actually witness someone REPEATEDLY killing players as they respawn, let it go.
The exception to this is, at the end of a round, where a team has capped all the flags - At that time the loosing team left in spawn had better run and hide, because "it's on"!!! To the victors go the spoils.
Please be aware that you should not enforce this rule on any Orange server that may we may have. This is because Orange maps are designed differently, and thus often force a team to spawn-kill for a minute or so if they want any hope of a full-cap.
Also, for Strand, shooting the Allies on the beach is part of the game.
Handling AFK and Spec players
Admins should move AFK people to Spec, but before taking any action, use all communications available to you to determine if they are actually AFK.
No one should go AFK with a limited class for very long. If you are going to go AFK for more than a few minutes regardless of class, you should move to spec. It is only considerate to your teammates. If the server is full, you can kick specs. If the server is slow, move AFK's to spec and then leave them there to fatten up the numbers.
Any eG caught moving people to the other team or to spec to even the teams will have their admin suspended. Any eG using this power to get a limited weapon will have their admin revoked permanently.
Hackers
Some people are just good players and can appear to be hacking. Because of this, never accuse someone of hacking in game, or tolerate accusations from other players.
Suspected Hackers are just that, Suspected Hackers. Do not brand them as guilty by kicking or banning them. Go through the proper procedures described in this section.
Don't spend your game time looking for hackers, but if someone's gameplay is COMPLETELY DISRUPTING THE GAME a demo can be made.
record filename (without qoutes) example: record Artimus The demo name and player name should be the same, i.e. "Artimus.dem"
After the demo starts, type "status" in console so that we have the STEAM ID of the player in question. Make sure you are in first person mode (viewing as you would be playing). Toggle modes with the space bar.
Record at least 5 minutes of demo.
To stop the demo
stopdemo
Demo's (.dem files) are stored in your DOD folder.
Bio Info
If you want to add a bio to your name on the roster, PM your info to Artimus. Cut and paste this form and add or subtract whatever you want the clan to know about you:
If you haven't done so already, send your STEAM ID to Kamakize Tommy to have your server admin set up. You can find your ID while in game by dropping the console with ~ and typing "status", without quotes (if your console doesn't appear, go to options, keyboard, advanced, check enable developer console). Your ID will be on the list next to your name in the following format: STEAM_0:1:12345678
Ventrilo Etiquette
You can find information on connecting to Ventrilo by clicking the Ventrilo link at the top of the website. The following rules are to be followed while connected:
1. Don't talk over other people speaking.
Wait your turn to speak just don't belt out whenever you feel the need to speak.
2. Watch your volume.
You don't want to overpower other people in voice. You may be asked to turn your mic down.
3. Technical issues.
If you are having problems with Ventrilo and need help, ask a person to help by pulling you down to a private channel.
4. Language.
Remember to watch your language around the younger crowd.
5. Assign a push to talk key.
Nobody wants to hear you fart or yell at the dog. Make sure that you don't assign the same key that you use for your game voice chat.
Passwords
Passwords are not to be given out to non-clan members without the permission of the Council. This includes ex-clan members.
Multiple Names
The use of multiple names on any eGO website is strictly forbidden. Any member found to be posting under two or more screen names will be banned for a minimum of 7 days and the additional accounts will be removed. Any repeat offense of this rule will result in a permanent ban of the member.
Guests Using eGO Members Accounts
When a guest is using a members account they must have the word GUEST after the tag and before the name of the hosts account. Here is an example: =(eGO)=GUESTslayr357. This makes them easy to spot on the score list and keeps from confusing them with eGO members.
If you share an account with another admin and a lesser admin uses a command that they are not authorized for, both members loose their admin status. So, if you are eGO and your eG brother bans someone while in game, both of you loose admin.
* While in game you can type "roster" in chat to get a current clan roster.
